EMU Faculty of Business and Economics was presented an award at the Sorbonne in Paris for being one of the best 1000 business schools in the world. Our Faculty was placed as the 6th among Turkish universities.
Dr. Cem Tanova, Chair of the Business Department and Prof. Serhan Çiftçioğlu participated in the Sorbonne ceremony during 4-5 November, 2008.
Eduniversal International Scientific Committee reviewed the international reputation, quality of programs and faculty members, rankings by other organizations and memberships in international associations to form the list of 1000 business schools. Then the 1000 business school deans recommended business schools that they believed provides quality business education. EMU FBE received 51 such recommendations.
The Turkish universities in the list in the order of total recommendations were Bilkent U (231), Istanbul U (172), Sabanci U (152), Koc U (141), Galatasaray U (91), Eastern Mediterranean U (51), Marmara U (20), Girne American U (0).
EMU FBE is a member of AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) and EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development). The Faculty has been found to be eligible for accreditation by AACSB and has started working on the accreditation process. In the fields of political science and international relations the Faculty is a member of ECPR (European Consortium for Political Research) and ISA (International Studies Association). The Faculty hosted a very successful 7th International Conference of the Middle East Economic Association last May.
